We found a house

After a stressful week of selling our condo and then having only a week to find/buy a new house, we found one. It need a little updating in the kitchen, but nothing immediate and Chad can do all of that on his own. He is very handy. One closet has the 80's mirrored doors, so we will be replacing those. Overall, its a great house. It has 4 bedrooms upstairs and two bathrooms. The master room has a walk-in closet and a full bathroom. Its definitely big enough for our California King bed and a sitting area. We may update that bathroom later also. The kids bathroom is very cool and needs no updating. Its really nice. The three other rooms are all good size, I think 14ft by 12 ft. On the main level is an entry way, formal dining room, formal living room, family room with fireplace, kitchen and dinette, bathroom, and a huge laundry room. Seriously, I have never seen a laundry room so big. I think its about 17ft by 12 ft. Tons of storage in there and there is a door from the garage into the laundry room and, best of all, a door from the back yard into the laundry room. That way if its muddy, everyone enters through the laundry room instead of the family room. The basement is unfinished, but is 1000 ft with two large, conforming windows. Our plan is to put a bedroom, maybe two rooms, a living area, a bathroom, and a play room or office, and have some storage. Its big. The backyard is large and completely flat. It has a great covered patio and a privacy fence. The front yard is very nice and has a great tree that we can hang a tire swing from. We have a third parking spot in the driveway and one behind our fence on the side of the garage, which is connected to the house by a door into the garage. It would be very easy to add a third car garage. The house has double doors for front doors. Right now, they are white, but we are going to get nice, oak doors. We are very close to Cherry Creek Reservoir, so we can do lots of camping, fishing, and boating. Our house is in the Cherry Creek school district, which is supposed to be the best district in all of Colorado. I think Kiley will really like her new school. We are very excited. Even though its not our first home together, it feels like it is coming from a condo.

Pregnancy....baby # 3

There it is...my belly at nearly 3 1/2 months pregnant. Not too bad. I was bigger by now with both my other pregnancies. It must be having a one year old boy to chase around and having to maintain a spotless home, while its on the market. Gladly, I haven't gained a pound yet. However, I am still carrying around about 15lbs from the last pregnancy that I didn't become motivated to lose until I was pregnant with this one and it was too late to start dieting. Figures. The pregnancy has gone well this far. I had some morning sickness from about week 5-8 and then it went away. Actually, I drank a G2 Gatorade and it made me feel better. I began to drink one daily and that was when the morning sickness went away. I thought it was all in my head, but my mother in-law, who is a nurse, said it may be that I was needing the electrolytes in it. Whatever works, right. I still have the fatigue and am hoping I will turn a stone with that soon. I thought this baby was a girl at first because my pregnancy symptoms were similar to those with Kiley and opposite of those with Creighton. Who knows though.

We have the greatest dog

Our dog, Tazzy, is smelly and lacks self control. She can not play with dogs or animals smaller than her because she plays too aggressive. She eats EVERYTHING. There is a lot to complain about with her, but she is the greatest dog with kids. She plays with them, protects them, is patient with them, and as you can see-lets Creighton sleep on her! She really is the best dog a kids could have.

Creighton

New pics of the kids

So, it's nearly impossible to get good photos of Creighton anymore. I used to be able to dress him up, pose him, and take tons of pictures. Now, he is on the move all of the time. I try to take more pictures. By the time my camera flashes, he has moved, and I end up with a photo of the top of his head! Here are a couple, just so you can see how the kids have grown. His cheeks are a little rosy because he has a cold and his cheeks and nose are chapped.

Dairy Queen Blizzards instead of the Zoo

It turned out to be rainy and chilly today, so we decided to go to the zoo next weekend instead. I don't know how the kids would have held up anyways. Both of them began to come down with colds on Saturday. They were both in bed at 6:30pm Sat. night. They slept great with a little bit of Tylenol to take care of their headaches. Poor kids. They didn't get to go to church today. I don't think they missed it. Kiley would have liked the Easter egg hung, but we had already been to two and had our own in the morning. It wasn't ideal weather for it anyways. Turned out to be a very busy day at church, so I was actually glad they didn't come. Kiley was disappointed that we decided not to go to the zoo. Chad said he would pick up Dairy Queen Blizzards instead and all was well again.

$75.98 for one dinner

So, I went to the store today and bought all the items to make a tastey Easter dinner. I am making a glazed, spiral ham, sweet potato pie topped with brown sugar coated pecans, homemade macaroni and cheese (one of Chads aunts recipes who won 1st place in a cooking competition. Its so good), salad, rolls, and deviled eggs. The cost for everything was $75.98! One dinner. O'well, it will make a good memory for my kids and establish our own holiday tradition. I have decided to cook Easter dinner on Saturday, instead of Sunday. Sunday will be too busy. We have our Easter baskets and egg hunt in the morning. Kiley wants green eggs and ham for breakfast. We have to be to church by 10:15am, followed by another easter egg hunt there. Then, off to the zoo and leftovers for dinner.

Easter Dinner

So, it's a little sad not having a lot of family here over the holidays. In Omaha, everyone goes to Chads Nana's house for a big Easter dinner and its so fun. I feel obligated to cook and carry on the tradition for my kids, but it seems silly to make a large feast for just the four of us. I can't wait for the day when we have 4-5 kids and a big meal seems less of a waste. Once we sell our home and get a much bigger home, I will plan on inviting others over to join. I love get togethers. I am still working on the menu for Easter. I know I am making a glazed spiral ham, this amazing sweet potato pie, green bean casserole, and rolls. I feel its a bit incomplete because I am so used to a huge meal at Chads Nana's home. I may throw in a dessert or something else. I am excited to have a busy weekend planned. On Friday, I am going to get the kids Easter baskets made and then Chad and I are taking them to the zoo. Saturday, Chad is golfing. I wish I was golfing too, but I will probably just take the kids shopping for spring/summer clothes. Sunday, we are going to wake up and have a nice breakfast and the kids can find their Easter baskets. Then, we have to go to church and work for an hour. The church is going to have an Easter egg hunt that I will let the kids stay for. We wont get home until around 1pm, at which time I probably need to start on dinner.

Family Profile-Creighton

I actually think that Creighton is the cutest little boy I have ever seen. He has beautiful blue eyes that make me smile every time I see them. He is a sweet, loving little boy. He has a bit of a stubborn streak and I am not sure who he gets it from. Chad and I are both very laid back. He has a sense of humor and is funny, like his dad...and me, I think. He finds something that makes us laugh and does it over and over. He just turned 1 and is approaching toddlerhood. While he has become increasingly active and alert, and I have become more tired, its just so great to see him grow and develop into quiet a character.

Family Profile- Kiley

Kiley is a great kid. She is 7 now and growing up so fast. She is very smart and is in a gifted and talented program at her school. I have been trying to get her involved in some sports. She shows very little interest and demonstrates even less ability. Perhaps she will be interested in Piano or Guitar lessons. Kiley is interested in cheerleading and wants to be a cheerleader in high school. I am doing my best to convince her that dance and gymnastics would be beneficial in the meantime. She is a great big sister. Creighton loves her so much. She is really excited about this baby and is hoping its a girl. If not, we will try once, maybe twice more. Hopefully, one of them will be a girl. She deserves a little sister, she is a great role model.

Chad and Kindra

Chad, my wonderful husband, and I met in college and have been together for 7 years. We have two really wonderful kids and one on the way. There are plans to have one, maybe two more kids in the next couple of years. Chad has his Masters degree in Architecture and moved us all to Colorado to take a job at Marasco and Associates. Moving was a great decision and has really strengthened our marriage, our friendship, and our relationships with our children. I have my Masters degree in Educational Administration. Currently, I am a stay at home mom and work a few hours for a local church here. I love staying at home, but look forward to going to work in a few years. I plan to stay at home until the last baby is in preschool. My mother in-law said to me a couple of years ago, "You can do everything, you just can't do it all at once. You have your whole life to work and only a few years to raise your children". That was when we decided I would stay at home and it has been the most rewarding experience of my life.

Giving it a try

So, many of my friends have set up blogs and I love to read them. A lot goes on day to day in our lives; good, bad, and nearly always hilarious. My husband is the funniest person I have ever met and our lives should be a sitcom. We have friends who, honestly, say they would rather sit and watch Chad and I have discussions than go out. I guess we are pretty entertaining. In the next several days I will try to get this up and running. I will add profiles of the family, pics, and some fun stories.
